Paul Gurman

Paul Gurman understands what it takes to start, run, grow, and sell a business. As a Certified Public Accountant and the managing member of Gurman & Company, PLLC, his goal is to help clients accomplish their financial objectives. He accomplishes this by focusing on more than just a client’s numbers.

“When I meet with a client I take time to genuinely get to know them. I want to know what their goals are and what concerns them. I enjoy the fact that clients come to me with questions big and small. They trust I will only give them advice that I am 100% confident about.”

A native of Indiana, Paul brings Midwestern values of personal attention and sincerity to his relationships. He designed Gurman & Company to be a boutique accounting, tax planning, and business consulting firm, meant to stay independent and highly focused on helping businesses succeed. Paul is passionate about delivering exceptional client service. With more than 35 years of experience, he personally specializes in merger and acquisition planning, sophisticated tax planning, as well as auditing and business growth consulting for not-for-profit organizations and government contractors.

Prior to forming Gurman & Company, Paul worked as an auditor for several large international accounting firms, where he gained valuable technical experience.

Paul earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Indiana University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. A strong proponent for children and a big believer in giving back to his community, Paul is the CEO and Chairman of the Harry & Zoe Poole Foundation Inc., a private charitable foundation benefiting children and education. The foundation gives money to other not-for-profit organizations focused on the same cause. Paul is also the Past Treasurer of SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now).
